Tankless Water Heater Installation
On-Demand Water Heater Installs
Tankless water heaters provide an endless supply of hot water for as long as it’s needed. These systems are known as ‘Hot Water On Demand,’ and don’t require a storage tank to store hot water. When a hot water tap is turned on, cold water travels through a pipe into the unit. A gas burner or electric element then heats the water, resulting in a constant supply. This way you don’t need to wait for a storage tank to fill up before the water can be heated. By having no tank, these water heaters experience a lifespan that is twice as long as traditional systems because the risk of rust and corrosion is significantly lower.
Choosing the Right Tankless Water Heater for You
Tankless water heaters come in two types: Gas-powered and electric. Gas [tankless] water heaters have energy factors (EFs) that range from 0.64 to 0.98, with an average of 0.85. Gas storage tank water heaters have EFs that range from 0.53 to 0.70, with an average of 0.62. Gas tankless water heaters have the capacity to supply hot water for most houses. Unlike gas heaters, most electric [tankless] water heaters cannot supply an entire house with hot water. They are, however, most effective when installed and utilized as supplementary heating sources – near bathroom or kitchen sinks, far from the main water heater. They are also useful in more remote locations, such as cottages or workshops, with fewer fixtures and less demand for hot water. The Standard in Efficiency
Heating water accounts for up to 30 percent of the average home’s energy budget. Therefore, it is important to have a system that is running efficiently to minimize your costs. A tankless water heater is usually more energy efficient than a storage tank water heater, since it eliminates the continuous standby energy loss from a storage tank. Tankless water heaters are rated with an energy factor (EF): the higher the EF, the more efficient the water heater. These systems can be quite efficient overall, but only effective when installed and used correctly.
